Community health on wheels: the Public Health Neighbourhood Bus is bringing care closer to home
The Public Health Neighbourhood Bus is back on the road with a brand-new look!
The bus goes to communities across Waterloo Region to offer vaccines and public health services. Nurses on the bus can give vaccines, answer health questions and help you find other local health services.
People who got vaccinated on the bus last year had a chance to vote for their favourite bus design. The design features languages that Public Health often translates and Indigenous languages spoken in the region.
The bus will operate throughout 2026 as part of its seasonal service that returns each year.
“Over the last four years, the bus has become more than just a mobile clinic. It has become a trusted presence in many communities,” said Amber White, Infectious Disease Manager. “Sometimes a conversation on the bus is the first step in helping someone feel connected to care and support.”
