Looking for fun during March Break? Join us for engaging family activities and events at our different Region of Waterloo Museums and Archives sites.
Our school break roundup is bursting with games, creativity, and excitement for kids of all ages. Whether you’re looking to walk on the wild side, enjoy fairy-like whimsy, or take in a magical experience, our museums have you covered.
Explore our three sites Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, McDougall Cottage and Schneider Haus, each offering a mix of activities included with normal admission, plus a few ticketed events (marked below with a $).
Saturday, March 14 & Sunday, March 15
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Skull Detectives (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
Monday, March 16
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Fossils with UW’s Earth Sciences Museum (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
Tuesday, March 17
- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 to 3 p.m. – March Break Fairy House Building Workshops $ (McDougall Cottage – Cambridge)
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Speaking of Wildlife Meet and Greet (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
Wednesday, March 18
- 1 to 2 p.m. – Walk on the Wildside – Wild Ontario Bird Meet and Greet $ (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
Thursday, March 19
- 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – All Ages March Break Enchanted Fairy Tea by the Grand $ (McDougall Cottage – Cambridge)
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – March Break Magic Show $ (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum – Kitchener)
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Speaking of Wildlife Meet and Greet (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
Saturday, March 21 & Sunday, March 22
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Skull Detectives (Schneider Haus – Kitchener)
Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum and Schneider Haus National Historic Site are open Wednesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
McDougall Cottage Historic Site is open Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.
