Region invests $10.2 million to address homelessness

The number of people experiencing homelessness in Waterloo Region is higher than ever before.

Homelessness is a complex problem with many causes – there is no one answer. Region of Waterloo staff are working with the community to find solutions. Together, our community is creating a Plan to End Chronic Homelessness. The creation of The Plan is taking place in community, by community and for community.

The full plan will be finalized and presented to Regional Council in April. But the Region is already beginning to accelerate work to address homelessness in our community, with an additional $10.2 million in funding this year to start the Plan to End Chronic Homelessness. Find more details in this recent report to Council.
