Public Health can help you navigate dental care needs in Waterloo Region1 min readReading Time: < 1 minute
Did you know that Region of Waterloo Public Health operates two dental clinics? Learn how the dental team helps community members navigate dental health care in the region in the newest People in Public Health video.
Registered Dental Hygienist Marianne McNiven will explain what the dental team does in our clinics and also discuss her team’s outreach work with local schools and community groups.
If people are facing financial barriers to dental care, Public Health can help connect them to provincial and regional support programs:
- Healthy Smiles Ontario is a free program for eligible children ages 17 and under.
- Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program is available to low-income Ontarians over 65.
- Free first dental visits are available for all babies under one year of age. These appointments provide early support and help lay the foundations for children to have a positive relationship with their oral health.
Visit Public Health’s dental health page for more information on our programs and resources to support your oral health.
