Community Paramedicine is a non-emergency service that connects people with ongoing health needs to health and community services, preventing unnecessary 911 calls and emergency department visits.

When someone is enrolled in the program, a certified Community Paramedic will visit their home and perform health or safety assessments and checkups. The paramedic may also connect the person with other services or assist them in navigating the health care system.

As a result of a partnership between Waterloo Region Housing and Paramedic Services, Waterloo Region Housing staff are able to make referrals directly to the Community Paramedicine program for housing tenants who may have little support or have experienced difficulty accessing healthcare.

Learn more about the Community Paramedicine program or Waterloo Region Housing on our website, or call 519-575-4400.
