New Welcome Space will open soon in Kitchener2 min read
Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Region of Waterloo will have a new location later this month for people who need in-person support to access Community Services programs. The Welcome Space located at 235 King Street East, Kitchener will move to the newly-renovated 20 Weber Street East starting on September 18, 2023.
Staff will continue to provide all services to clients during the move.

The Region of Waterloo has three of these Welcome Space locations to help people navigate programs like Ontario Works, Child Care Subsidy, Employment Support and Housing Services. The other Welcome Space locations are 150 Main Street in Cambridge and 99 Regina Street South in Waterloo.
All three Welcome Spaces are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Every day, each location serves approximately 100 to 200 people.
The relocation and improvements to 20 Weber are part of a larger project that will see the Region of Waterloo reduce the office space it leases and requires, saving about $1.2 million annually on future capital costs. The new space at 20 Weber includes improved accessibility, as well as two universal washrooms and modern design.
