From lost bunny to official mascot: Grand River Transit welcomes Ryder
Grand River Transit is excited to announce the launch of our official mascot, Ryder.
One day in winter, a small stuffed bunny named Ryder appeared in a bus shelter. No one seemed to know where he came from, or who had left him there.
It was very cold, and he shivered on the icy snow as he watched people pass by. Just when he thought he might sit there forever, he was saved.
A nice bus driver picked him up, and brought him to a big building full of buses.
It was a bus garage! It was a wonderful place for a bunny who liked to explore and get into mischief. Ryder played hide and seek, watched the mechanics fix the buses and rode on their tricycle, but his favorite part was the bus wash.
He loved to watch the buses get scrubbed clean. One day, he snuck onto a bus when no one was looking. He wanted to ride through the bus wash.
The water sprayed, and the brushes spun, but this time, something magical happened. The little bunny came out big.
This is where our story ends for today, but don’t worry.
This is just the beginning, and Ryder will have many more adventures.
Customers and the community can expect to see Ryder promoting transit through Waterloo Region and helping teach residents of every age how to use the transit system.
He will also make appearances at community events, and special events held by GRT throughout the year.
