Easier access to Public Health services for Kitchener residents
People who need Public Health services and live in or near downtown Kitchener now have an easier, more convenient option. The Region recently opened a new Public Health clinic at the corner of Weber and Queen, as the team works to provide more equitable access to care in the community.
The clinic is a short walk from bus and LRT stops. It opened in October to provide routine childhood and seasonal vaccines, but added other services in November, including sexual health services and supports, breast feeding support, and dental screening. Translation services are also available.
These services are intended to support people who don’t have access to a doctor or who have significant barriers in accessing their doctor or pharmacies. Learn more about the different public health services available. Some services are by appointment only.
The building at 20 Weber Street has more than just this health clinic. It offers a central place for residents to access many Region of Waterloo services, including Ontario Works, community housing, and computer and internet use.
