Celebrate the magic of the holiday season at Region of Waterloo Museums

Join the Region of Waterloo Museums team this holiday season for festive events for the whole family.

From photo opportunities with holiday favourites to Christmas-themed crafts, there are activities for all ages. Don’t miss the return of the magical Starry Night in Doon Heritage Village.

Whether you’re looking to create a holiday tradition or just something fun to do with family and friends, our holiday lineup has something for everyone. Here is the full list:

Weekends: December 6, 7, 13, 20, 21, 27, 28 and January 3, 4

Sunday, December 7, 14, 21, 28

Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20

  • 6 to 9 p.m.– Starry Night  (Doon Heritage Village – Kitchener)

Monday to Wednesday, December 29, 30, 31 and Friday, January 2

Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum and Schneider Haus National Historic Site are open Wednesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

McDougall Cottage Historic Site is open Friday to Sunday 12 to 4 p.m. and will close for the season on December 14, reopening with a new exhibit, Snapshots in Time: Nostalgia and Memory in February 2026.

Together, Doon Heritage Village, Schneider Haus, McDougall Cottage and the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, tell stories from this region through educational and public programming, events, and a collection of over 60,000 cultural belongings.
