It’s business first at the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce.
As a member-based not-for-profit organization representing more than 1,800 local business professionals, the Chamber’s goal is to strengthen the local economy, advocate for its members and the community, while delivering value to the operators of many small, medium, and large businesses that call Waterloo Region home.
If something needs to be done because it is important to our community, by association it is also just as a vital to our businesses and the Cambridge Chamber is here to ensure those needs are satisfied.
Besides successfully crafting policy resolutions adopted annually at the provincial and national Chamber levels to ignite the development of government legislation that can benefit businesses, the Cambridge Chamber also continues to create numerous initiatives to provide support to the local business community.
Among these is the highly successful rapid antigen screening kit program which since its inception in the spring of 2021 as a pilot initiative has seen more than 1.2 million kits freely distributed to Waterloo Region businesses, not just Chamber members, through its award-winning digital portal Chambercheck.ca. The program has been adopted by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce network to the benefit of thousands of businesses provincewide in their efforts to navigate the ongoing pandemic and remain safely open.
In keeping with the way many businesses have had to evolve in the past two years, the Cambridge Chamber has also done the same by developing a variety of virtual educational programming to assist its members, while at the same time continuing to inspire entrepreneurs and business leaders by safely reintroducing many of its popular in-person offerings, including our ‘Women Take Charge’ Breakfast series, Good Morning Cambridge Breakfast series, and Business Excellence and Community Awards.
In addition, the Chamber continuously provides local businesses ample opportunity to promote themselves through a wide range of marketing tools including our very successful quarterly business publication and large outdoor digital sign located prominently along Hespeler Road.
Fostering a strong sense of community, the Cambridge Chamber continues to bring the business community together in ways that can instigate positive change to benefit us all.
As an organization, our mission can be defined as one that nurtures business to create momentum and champion success by bringing together the elements – on all sides of an issue – to cultivate all that is good, and can be good, in our community.
