Region of Waterloo Paramedics support cancer awareness with pink and blue epaulettes

Region of Waterloo Paramedics took a stand in the fight against cancer by wearing pink and blue epaulettes this fall.  In October and November, paramedics donated a minimum of $20 to rent a set of epaulettes for the month.

The pink epaulettes symbolize breast cancer awareness, while the blue ones represent prostate cancer awareness.

In December, a team of paramedics delivered their combined donation of $1,735 to the Grand River Hospital Foundation’s cancer care programs.

By making this gift and wearing the epaulettes, paramedics are showing solidarity with those affected by breast and prostate cancer, plus raising awareness about the importance of early detection and research.
